Dr. Raymond Vicky Ojwang’ Omollo, PhD

Currently

Appointment by HE. CGH President William Ruto, I'm serving as the Principal Secretary (PS) in the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration. Under this docket, I am responsible for:

  • The co-ordination of a range of national government functions and policies in the counties.
  • Implementation and oversight of internal security policies
  • Executing national cohesion and integration, policies on training of security personnel in border management (Marine and Terrestrial), Disaster and Emergency Response Co-ordination.
  • Management of Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Food
  • Overseeing policies on National Crime Research and Management as well as any other delegations granted upon me by HE. CGH President William Samoei Arap Ruto
  • The Cabinet Secretary of Interior and Administration of National Government.
MY BIOGRAPHY

HISTORY

2019 - 2022
Prior to my current role, I served as the Managing Director of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA), a government agency that spearheads the socio-economic development of 18 counties in the Lake Victoria basin region. I was responsible for overseeing the agency's activities and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the use of its resources.
2007 - 2019

I worked at the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi) Africa, an international non-profit organization focused on research and development for neglected diseases. I served as the Head of Data Center and Statistician during this time and was responsible for departmental strategy formulation and implementation in line with overall organizational strategic direction among other key roles.

2015 - 2018
I served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Consolidated Bank of Kenya, a financial institution in Kenya. During this time, I chaired the Credit and Finance Committee as well as the Risk and Compliance Committee, providing guidance and oversight for the bank's operations.
2016 - Present
I have been a research fellow and adjunct lecturer at Strathmore University, Nairobi, Kenya, at the Centre for Research in Therapeutic Sciences (CREATES) and School of Mathematics Sciences. My relationship with the youth is strong, and I am committed to supporting their development.
Early Life And Education
Raymond Omollo was born on the 27th December, 1979 in Homabay County, southern part of Nyanza in Kenya. I attended my primary education studies at Muslim Primary School Kisumu, Omolo Agar Primary School Homabay and Rang’i Primary School Homabay. Thereafter, I moved to Mbita High School, Homabay, Kenya for my secondary school education. After this, upon admission to the University of Nairobi, I took up a Bachelors course in Statistics. I also holds a master’s degree in Biometry from the University of Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya and a Doctor of Philosophy PhD in applied Statistics from Maseno University in Kenya.
